Intercropping Winter Oilseed Rape (Brassica napus L.) Has the Potential to Lessen the Impact of the Insect Pest Complex

چکیده
Winter oilseed rape (Brassica napus) is a global major crop used for the production of vegetable oil. Typically sown in late summer and grown throughout winter spring, it allows interesting cultural practices, such as frost-sensitive intercropping with companion plants. This practice not only provides nitrogen resources much needed by but plants can also prevent weed growth autumn, thereby reducing common herbicide use. Additionally, has potential to protect from insect pests. During 2019–2020, B. napus was alone (i.e., control) or intercropped mixture faba bean (Vicia faba) grass pea (Lathyrus sativus); because unusually clement weather conditions, did freeze, which allowed evaluation impact these on pest complex spring. Insect damage beetles Psylliodes chrysocephala, Ceutorhynchus napi, Brassicogethes aeneus assessed both treatments. The larval density P. chrysocephala significantly lower service Egg laying C. napi were reduced when intercropped, number captured presence than control. Moreover, yield higher part field pure underlying mechanisms are partially understood, frost-resistant seems be an ecologically sound very high level reduce pressure increase yield. may eventually our reliance chemical inputs one most treated crops.

Assessment of the adaptation of oilseed rape (Brassica napus L.) genotypes using non-parametric statistical methods
One of the most important challenges for plant breeding has always been genotype × environment interaction. In present study, genotype × environment interaction was invesitigated for 13 winter oilseed rape genotypes in six cold and temperate cold locations in Iran using non- parametric statistical methods during 2014-2017 growing seasons. Four methods; Hildebrand, Bredenkamp, Kubinger, and De K...

Gaining a greater understanding of the plant microbiota and its interactions with its host plant heralds a new era of scientific discovery in agriculture. Different agricultural management practices influence soil microbial populations by changing a soil's physical, chemical and biological properties. However, the impact of these practices on the microbiota associated with economically importan...

Sterols and the phytosterol content in oilseed rape (Brassica napus L.)
Sterols are natural, organic compounds with a molecular nucleus of 17 carbon atoms and a characteristic threedimensional arrangement of four rings. From the chemical point of view sterols are steroid alcohols and their name is derived from Greek stereos, which mean solid with ending –ol, which is the suffix for alcohols. As essential constituents of cell membranes, they are widely distributed i...
متن کاملEvaluation of growth and seed yield of new winter oilseed rape (Brassica napus L.) genotypes under terminal drought stress conditions
Breeding and production of drought tolerant cultivars for arid and semi-arid area is very important. The present experiment was carried out to evaluate the effects of drought stress on seed yield and yield components of oilseed rape as well as identification of high yielding and drought stress tolerant genotypes. Eighteen new winter oilseed rape lines and commercial cultivars were evaluated und...
